Determinants and mechanisms driving energy-saving behaviours of long-stay hotel guests: Comparison of leisure, business and extended-stay residential cases

The global hospitality industry is fast-turning sustainable and environmentally friendly. Behaviour-driven energy conservation an emerging green hotel operation strategy to support this change. long-stay accommodation services have gained momentum in the sector since COVID-19 pandemic. However, characteristics of guests are often overlooked interventions. Based on empirical survey China, study aims explore factors driving energy-saving behaviours compare their effects for different visiting purposes (leisure, business, extended-stay resident). analysis indicates that attitude, personal norm place attachment present a direct contribution behaviour. Besides, results attitude connect environmental values Both altruistic biospheric positive effects, while egoistic seem play negative role. Biospheric stronger impact business guests.
